Thomas Gerber, Head of Pensions at Axa Switzerland, said at a conference call on Monday that the conditions of semi-autonomous collective foundations, which are advantageous for customers, are still convincing on the market. After business had tripled in 2020 – i.e. one year after leaving full insurance – more customers were added in 2021.

The number of subscribers and companies in Axa’s BVG business increased by 5.5 percent. Those of the actively insured – i.e. the people in the work process – increased by 7.8 percent to over 300,000. This is roughly back to the level before the transformation, said the new head of occupational pensions, Jürgen Scharfetter.
