Baloise boss Gert De Winter resigns
Baloise CEO Gert De Winter has announced his resignation. He will be succeeded on July 1 by Michael Müller, who previously managed the Swiss business.

De Winter is resigning from the management for personal reasons, as the insurer announced on Wednesday. Due to personal events in the last 12 months, now is the right time to set new priorities in life, De Winter justified his decision. He was known to have just recovered from cancer.
His successor, Michael Müller, has been with Baloise since 1997. The graduate economist took on various finance functions in the group and the Swiss division. Since 2011 he has been in charge of the business in Switzerland as CEO. He is also vice-president of the Swiss Insurance Association (SVV) and on the board of the Swiss Employers’ Association. In a selection process, he prevailed over internal and external candidates.
