Fully booked due to WEF
Crazy prices for last beds in Davos
The World Economic Forum starts in a week. If you are still looking for a place to stay, you have to dig deep into your pockets.

In just over a week, the World Economic Forum (WEF) will take place again in Davos.
Deciding to go to the World Economic Forum (WEF) at short notice is an expensive idea. Around a week before the start of the world-famous forum, Davos is fully booked. The last free beds are offered at exorbitant prices.
On the Airbnb housing platform, you can find simple accommodation with a bed for CHF 25,000 a week. The same apartments are sometimes offered ten times cheaper in summer. The same picture can also be seen on the booking platform Booking.com.
The market decides
“We assume that the occupancy will be like 2020 again: full house in hotels as well as in the holiday apartments,” says Reto Branschi (63), Director of Destination Davos-Klosters to “Ajour”. Anyone who is still looking for a bed would only have a chance at the last minute.
According to Branschi, the problem with the high prices lies primarily with the holiday apartments, whose owners can place the offers themselves. “We can only make recommendations and remind you that excessive prices endanger the continued existence of the WEF,” Branschi told Ajour. The hotels would reserve 80 percent of the seats for WEF participants and also offer fair prices. The prices of the remaining fifth are determined by the market. (lui)
