“The new budget reflects the increase in revenue from gas sales by 34 percent compared to the original budget,” said Gazprom’s deputy chief Famil Sadygow on Thursday, according to the company’s Telegram channel. The lower physical sales of gas exports have been fully offset by the rising gas export price.

The increase in revenue in the first half of the year will allow, among other things, to implement tax increases and important investment projects such as the “Power of Siberia” pipeline and deposits on the Yamal Peninsula in northern Siberia, Sadygov said. According to him, 1.2 trillion rubles (equivalent to about 19 billion francs) will also be spent on dividend payments.
