There will be oysters, fresh salads and champagne here in the future.

Globus is expanding its department store at Bellevue in Zurich. The well-frequented take-away is also being refurbished. That pleases the well-heeled clientele. She was afraid for the posh “Gold Coast Canteen”, as the local is popularly called.
No wonder, since the noble ladies from the Zürichberg or the right bank of the lake meet there for a light meal at noon after noon. Or the well-heeled high school students who don’t like the food in the school canteen – burgers and fries or a salad buffet – well enough.
Wines are ready
The offer in the globe, on the other hand, is at its finest. Delicacies from all over the world are offered for sale – all fresh and prepared in the same way, before the eyes of the hungry, who are patiently queuing for them. Of course, all of this has its price.
Now it’s clear: On January 26, Globus will open a temporary facility just 150 meters away at Seefeldstrasse 5. The well-heeled can eat there for two years. Where there used to be a hairdresser. And an Italian. The interior is classy, as a look through the windows shows. The wine bottles are already on the shelves. However, the range of fine wines and delicacies will be significantly reduced. (pbe)
