McDonald’s went out of business in Russia in mid-May as a result of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine. After more than 30 years in the country, the US fast food chain sold its branches to Russian oligarch and licensing partner Alexander Govor. What he is now planning to do with the traditional burger restaurants is causing a stir.

According to media reports, Govor wants to stick to the traditional menu. Thus, the Russians should continue to enjoy Big Mac, Happy Meal and Co. But one thing is clear: Govor has to change the name. The oligarch has apparently already thought about it and registered possible brand names for the company. This emerges from patent documents from Friday, about which “CNN” reports.
