Sika announced on Wednesday that sales exceeded the 10 billion mark for the first time. 2022 was characterized by rising raw material costs and a slowdown in the construction industry in the second half of the year. Sika has raised its own prices accordingly and made targeted use of growth opportunities.
The acquisition effect was 2.5 percent in the reporting year, Sika explained further. The currency effect played in the opposite direction at minus 2.4 percent.
On average, analysts had expected slightly higher sales of CHF 10.61 billion.
The Sika Group is confident about the future. He expects a record operating result (EBIT) for 2022 and a stable EBIT margin of 15 percent compared to the previous year.
At the same time, the company confirmed the medium-term goals of “Strategy 2023”. According to this, sales should grow by 6 to 8 percent annually and the EBIT margin should be in the range of 15 to 18 percent.
Sika still expects the MBCC acquisition to be completed in the first half of 2023. The business is “on the home straight,” explained Sika.
Sika will present the full annual financial statements on February 17.
