There is also an option for another train, as Stadler announced on Thursday. From 2025, the trains will run on the RE 19 and RB 10 lines along the Rhine between Koblenz, Neuwied and Frankfurt. Stadler did not provide any information on the volume of the order in the announcement.
With the order that has now been announced, the number of Flirt vehicles in the Vias fleet has increased to 27 trains. The multiple units offer space for 512 passengers, of which 230 are seated. The trains are also equipped with the Guardia train control system.
The award of the contract was preceded by the award of the network to Vias by the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund GmbH (RMV). (SDA)
