At the WEF in Davos there is a luxury lounge by Manchester United.
The World Economic Forum (WEF) is currently taking place in Davos. Political figures from all over the world meet in the Landwassertal and debate current topics. And sport is now represented in Davos too, thanks to English giants Manchester United.
Because the “Red Devils” are official partners of the WEF and have now opened their own luxury lounge in Davos. The aim is not to attract new buyers, as Ellie Norman, a spokeswoman for the club, told The Guardian. The lounge is there to meet with existing customers and partners.
Interesting: United announced in November that they were looking for a new buyer or investor as the current owner family Glazer wanted to withdraw. From this point of view, the choice regarding the target group at the World Economic Forum makes perfect sense, even if the club denies these intentions.

“Manchester United is proud to be the first sports club to partner with the World Economic Forum,” the English record champions wrote in a statement. “We are in Davos to explore how to maximize the impact of our exceptional reach of 1.1 billion fans worldwide.”
Special activities are planned during the course of the week, for example, on Tuesday evening, the goalkeeper legend Peter Schmeichel and managing director Richard Arnold will invite you to an aperitif. Later in the week Avram Glazer from the current owner family is also expected as a guest.
The lounge has a very elegant look, everything is black and gold. Players’ faces are also emblazoned on video walls and jerseys framed on the walls. And so far it should also have an effect: According to “The Guardian”, many passers-by stop, take pictures or look around inside. (bjl)
