The federal government wants 50 percent plug-in vehicles for new registrations by 2025

In the first quarter of 2022, plug-in vehicles (electric cars and plug-in hybrids) accounted for 25.5 percent of new registrations, according to a statement from the Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC).

The new stage of the electric mobility roadmap also provides for around 20,000 generally accessible charging stations to be available by the end of 2025. According to the announcement, there were around 7,150 at the beginning of 2020. In order to achieve the goals, the actors in the roadmap committed themselves “with voluntary measures” in their respective fields of action, as the announcement goes on to say.
