The shortage of skilled workers has worsened in many sectors in recent months. What is difficult for companies puts employees in a comfortable situation. If you have a good education, you can currently think about a change even if you experience little inconvenience at work. In November, more than 260,000 jobs were vacant in Switzerland – and the trend is rising.
A study by the consulting firm McKinsey shows that over 34 percent of all employees in Switzerland are dissatisfied with their current job. Employers therefore seem well advised to take feedback from their workforce seriously.
In cooperation with the jobs.ch portal, the “Handelszeitung” evaluated which jobs are most frequently looked for by those looking for a change – as well as the possible earning potential in the professions.
These are the most wanted jobs in Switzerland
Most searches are for clerical and language translation jobs. From the employee’s point of view, the jobs are varied with activities in the areas of marketing, sales, but also accounting and human resources. Nevertheless, practically all sectors are looking for suitable specialists. The median earning potential is CHF 80,900 per year.
Working at the reception or in the secretariat is also very popular. A professional profile that is needed in practically every booth and in every shop. On average, a receptionist earns CHF 76,600 a year.
In third place is sales in the back office or back office jobs. A profession in which all-rounders are sought, and also with good future prospects. In terms of income, employees can expect a median of CHF 83,100 per year.
