US President Joe Biden is not traveling to this year’s WEF in Davos, nor is his Vice President, Kamala Harris, or Secretary of State Antony Blinken. The US is sending John Kerry, the President’s special envoy on climate, and Secretary of Labor Martin J. Walsh instead.

US President Joe Biden is not attending this year’s WEF.
The US delegation to the World Economic Forum (WEF), which takes place in Graubünden from January 16 to 20, also includes FBI Director Christopher Wray, Intelligence Coordinator Avril Haines, Secretary of Development Samantha Power and several senators and members of the House of Representatives. This was announced by the US Embassy in Bern on Friday evening.
Around 3000 international participants from business, politics, science and society are expected at the WEF 2023. The guiding principle for this year is “Cooperation in a Fragmented World”. The official guest list is not yet known. Among others, EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz have been announced.
In 2023, the meeting will last from January 16th to 20th. The army already started the preparatory work today, Friday. Up to 5000 soldiers are deployed.
