Looks and fashion trends from New York.
The fashion metropolis of the USA presented the latest fashion trends for the spring and summer collections 2023 from September 8th to 14th. American fashion brands such as Tom Ford, Tommy Hilfiger, Coach, Michael Kors and Puma were represented at the New York Fashion Week and Tory Burch. However, the Fashion Week in the Big Apple this September was more international than ever: Italian fashion houses such as Fendi and Marni also brought their collections to New York. We reveal here which looks and fashion trends caught our eye.
Trend 1: bright light green
A color that catches the eye: at the moment almost every fashion show features a garish light green, also known as “Lime Punch”. It certainly takes a dose of courage to wear this eye-catching color in everyday life. But if you dare, you will be rewarded: you stand out with it and become a real eye-catcher thanks to the loud sound!
Trend 2: Tiffany Blue
Typically Big Apple: The new trend color of the Fashion Week originally comes from the New York jeweler Tiffany & Co., which is known for high-quality jewellery, watches and precious stones. When you buy an item from the jewelry brand, the good piece is packed in a turquoise blue box with a bow. The color of the packaging is a trademark of the brand and is now known as “Tiffany Blue”. New York Fashion Week designers transfer this tone to their clothes.
Trend 3: Purple
The trend color of the year 2022 will remain and will still be of great importance in spring and summer 2023: Purple is currently one of the most commonly worn colors and very popular with stars and influencers. The purple pairs best with darker shades of purple. However, if you want to stand out even more, you can opt for color blocking and wear other bright colors with purple.
Trend 4: Sunflower yellow
The bright statement color yellow inevitably reminds us of the sun: it puts us in a good mood and makes us optimistic. It doesn’t matter whether it’s all yellow or combined with black or other tones – the color stands out in the various fashion shows. Various fashion houses, such as Tommy Hilfiger, Fendi or Ulla Johnson, have included yellow in their collections for the following year.
Trend 5: papery
Leather is in high demand almost every season. In the spring and summer 2023 collections, the basic material will again be used by various designers: This time, leather is used in particular, which is reminiscent of paper and has an unusual structure.
Trend 6: Varsity style
The casual student look is currently making a comeback in the fashion world: so-called college jackets are showing up on the catwalks in New York. Traditionally, sweatshirts have a school name or letters on them, but now the sporty variety style is worn everywhere, not just on campus, and adjustments are needed. The US fashion brands Coach and Tommy Hilfiger have primarily embraced the trend and given it a new touch.
Trend 7: Bucket hats
Fisherman’s hats, also known as bucket hats, are already an absolute must-have this year. In the coming season, the hat will be available in even more different colours, shapes and patterns. Whether with an animal print, in bright colors or made of fluffy material – the bucket hat remains popular and can be combined in many ways.
