Lea, Tatjana, Nina and Lucia (from left) have been running the telephone against violence (TGG) with eight other activists for over a year.

In Switzerland, one person dies every two weeks as a result of domestic violence. In over 70 percent of cases, the person killed is female, as figures from the Federal Statistical Office show. So far this year, twelve women have been killed by their partner or a male family member.

The activists from the Telephone Against Violence (TGG) have a clear position on this topic. “We criticize the patriarchal system and are of the opinion that it is not a question of individual fates, but of a structural problem,” says Lea. “It makes me hate that many women are not believed when they have experienced violence.”
