This is what annoys singles the most when it comes to online dating
Do you know Ghosting, Benching and Nudes?
The manners of some on online dating sites leave a lot to be desired. More respect is required, as a representative survey shows.

A lack of decency in online dating bothers the Swiss.
New year, new happiness in love. In January, an above-average number of singles register on dating platforms. But suddenly the online flirt does not write back or sends explicit photos without being asked: A Parship survey with 1000 participants between 18 and 69 years shows that the Swiss lack the necessary respect when dating online.
46 percent have already had bad experiences with online dating. Phenomena such as ghosting or benching, but also zombieing or unsolicited nude photos are widespread. Around 30 percent stated that they had already been ghosted. A fifth admitted to being the culprit and having ghosted someone.
That’s what the different terms mean
ghosting: Cut off contact without explanation.
Zombieing: Report back after a loss of contact and act as if nothing had happened.
benching Keep someone warm until someone better is found.
Parallel dating: Date two or more people at the same time.
Cushioning: Going on dates when you’re taken so you always have someone on reserve.
Dick Pics / Nudes: Send naked pictures to strangers or people you know without being asked.

Women and young more affected
Women are more often affected by poor behavior than men. And younger people in particular are more confronted with disrespectful behavior. This is easy to explain. Young people tend to use online dating more diligently than older people because they grew up with the technology.
Clinical sexologist and Parship psychologist Dania Schiftan says: “Disrespectful behavior in dating can cause harm.” Furthermore, an action does not necessarily have to take place, even ignoring it can hurt and therefore be harmful.
So do you have fewer bad experiences in real life than online? “No,” say 30 percent of those surveyed. This contrasts with 22 percent who believe they have had worse experiences with online dating than in real life. The sexologist sees no difference: you can always get hurt.
A good 30 percent of them are less willing to actively hunt for a partner because of a bad experience. “One must not forget that behind the profile is a person with feelings,” says Schiftan. A quarter of those surveyed do not take the rebuffs personally and quickly forget the matter. However, 13 percent of women and 17 percent of men admit that they have also been dismissive of their counterparts due to negative experiences.

The singles platform would like to take action against a lack of manners and motivate singles to be more committed when dating.
Schiftan advises people who have had a bad experience to accept themselves. “In a further step, it can be determined whether the person should be informed that they have injured you.”
