Researchers confirm complex
Men with small penises want faster cars
Men who think their penis is smaller than average want to drive faster and more expensive cars. A British study confirms this. However, the penis complex only occurs in subjects aged 29 and over.

Men are often accused of driving expensive sports cars to compensate for their penis size.
The more horsepower his car has, the smaller his penis. This common assumption about men hasn’t been scientifically proven—until now. A research team from London’s Global University (UCL) has now found that there is even more than a grain of truth in it.
Finding this out was anything but easy, as “Spiegel” writes. Because, another common assumption, men rarely tell the truth when it comes to the size of their penis.
Therefore, the research team opted for an indirect approach. Her guess: If men were told that their penis was large or small compared to the average, this would have an impact on how desirable they found expensive sports cars afterwards.
Phenomenon has not occurred with other luxury goods
So the experiment started with a deception. The 200 participants were tricked into thinking they were investigating how well they could retain information while shopping. They were shown some “facts” on a screen, and then they were presented with a picture of a product.
One of these “facts”: The average penis is 18 centimeters long. What’s not true: The average penis is twelve to thirteen centimeters long when erect. But subjects who were presented with this fact did actually consider sports cars to be more desirable.
The group of subjects who were told that an average penis is ten centimeters long found sports cars less attractive. Interesting: This effect did not appear with other luxury goods such as watches.
Age plays a crucial role in the penis complex. “From the age of 29, the effect of penis size on the desire for a sports car has increased,” write the authors, led by experimental psychologist Daniel C. Richardson. (chs)
