The most beautiful conversion stories of the year
This is how the Blick readership has fulfilled their dreams of living
Also in 2022, Blick reported on a wide variety of types of living and successful conversions from the readership. We show a small selection of big dreams that have been realized here.

Mirjam Lerch (33) and Gregor Tanner (47) live with their two children in Bischofszell TG in a self-built yurt.
Whether in a tiny house on a few square meters, in a spacious villa, in a completely converted farmhouse or in an off-road vehicle: This year Blick was once again able to visit a wide variety of Blick readers who have made their dream home come true.
Often with a lot of personal work and little money, sometimes with a few hurdles from the authorities. The question of location is often a problem, especially in the case of small forms of housing, and is more or less supported or prevented depending on the municipality. Here are some of the most beautiful conversion stories that we were able to show this year.
Mirjam Lerch (33) and Gregor Tanner (47) have experienced how difficult and laborious the search for a location for a mini house can be. They live with their two children in Bischofszell TG in a self-built yurt. How long the family will live there is still uncertain.

A tiny house in paradise
Marina Niedermann (30) has the same problem. The young teacher is all the happier about her happiness. She lives in Affeltrangen TG in a tiny house for an unlimited period of time. This gives her security in her paradise, which she has created in a dream place.

Andreas Föhr (56) has also found his paradise. But in his paradise there is a lot of space to live. He lives in a listed villa in Zurich. But he only has one room for himself. That’s enough for him, because he’d rather share than own. The community person shares the whole house and garden with 17 other residents.

A small rustico in the sunny south was the dream of Ernst (75) and Phannapha (49) Bösch. With a lot of personal work, the couple transformed their ancient rustico in the Maggia Valley into a contemporary little house with optimal energy consumption in just ten months.

Single father Stephan Mayer (50) allowed himself more time with his conversion project. Only with his new partner Sandra Zehnder (52) did the self-employed carpenter rebuild his typical 1960s house in Aargau almost alone. The couple has other conversion plans and renovations, but will carry them out in stages for cost reasons.

Old farmhouse becomes modern
The all-rounder Stee Zurbrügg (59) and his wife Cornelia Zurbrügg (57) also had little budget. On their own, the couple built a dream house with a loft character from an old farmhouse in the Zurich Unterland. The creative couple is constantly changing and beautifying their home.

Traveling is the great passion of Silvia (66) and Werner Berger (68). They have fulfilled a dream with their converted expedition vehicle. The retired couple has everything they need to live in 18 square meters. The couple has been traveling all over the world with their “Expi” for years and feels at home everywhere.
