The luxury suite was furnished by the Valais artist Heinz Julen (59), who attaches great importance to natural light. The glass walls and the free-standing bathtub with a view of the Matterhorn are striking.

Up to four guests can stay in the 160 m² Presidential Suite of the Ultima in Gstaad BE. The suite is almost as big as a chalet with two en-suite bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a large dining area and a fireplace. A lot of wood and large windows for daylight were used in the interior design. For a week of winter holidays in this suite, you pay around 42,000 francs, that is a total of 6,000 francs per night!

Designed by Belgian architect Jean-Michel Gathy (68), the Alpin Hotel is known for its Asian-modern decor. The 330 m² Furka Suite has three bedrooms and three bathrooms with bathtub and rain shower. In addition, guests can relax in the suite’s own spa area with sauna and whirlpool. Pure luxury – for which you have to pay a lot: an overnight stay in a suite costs 15,000 francs.

Six Senses, Crans Montana VS

The Six Senses Hotel in Crans-Montana VS combines luxury, nature and sustainability. The hotel chain has been aiming for a plastic-free strategy since 2022 and tries to avoid plastic in its hotels. As the property’s name suggests, the hotel aims to help guests connect with their senses with spa services and other activities. The 79 m² terrace suite can accommodate up to three guests. From the balcony you have a view of the Crans-Montana ski area, as the hotel is located just above the main gondola. The luxury suite can be booked for CHF 1,400.
Guarda Val, Lenzerheide GR

A traditional Maiensäss, called “Stailetta” in Romansh, all for you alone. This is possible for CHF 990 per night at the Hotel Guarda Val in Lenzerheide GR. The highlights of the accommodation are the private jacuzzi and the hay bed under a glass dome where you can watch the starry sky. In addition to the Maiensäss, guests can visit the “Guarda Sana” wellness area, which is located in an old barn.

A night in the luxurious suite costs 713 francs.
