Whether in summer or winter – hiking is always possible. Snowshoeing may get a little less attention than the classics of skiing and snowboarding, but it’s at least as beautiful. The advantage: You hardly need any practice and no expensive equipment.
You can enjoy the winter landscape while snowshoeing on routes of varying difficulty. These are the favorite hikes of the Blick community.
From Schwägalp AR to Kronberg AI

The marked panoramic snowshoe hike from Schwägalp to the panoramic mountain Kronberg takes around 2.5 hours. The path leads through snow-covered meadows to the Chammhaldenhütte, a Swiss Alpine Club (SAC) hut. We continue through forest and moorland. If you are hungry at the end of the snowshoe hike, you can stop off at the Kronberg mountain restaurant.

From Beatenberg BE to Habkern BE

Snow-covered forests and a view of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau: this is what awaits you on this snowshoe hike. Start is at the Postbus stop Beatenberg, Waldegg. From there, a slight ascent begins, along the edge of the forest and past old chalets. The path, which offers a magnificent view of Lake Thun, is signposted and well prepared.

The Hungerberg Trail in Obergoms VS

If you like to enjoy the sun, this snowshoe hike is the right choice for you. Because the way to the Hungerberg leads to one of the most popular sun terraces in Obergoms. You can take the train from Brig to Oberwald, where the trail starts.

From Rothwald VS to Wasenalp VS

This snowshoe trail is family-friendly. You start at the Rothwald valley station and follow the purple wooden posts that mark the path. The path leads to the upper Rothwald. From there it goes down into the Durstbach Gorge, where you can get to the Wasenalp mountain restaurant via the groomed slope and from there back to the starting point.

From Brambrüesch GR over the Dreibündenstein GR plateau

From Brambrüesch the route leads through forests and fields with mountain and valley views. The highest point of the hike is the Furggabüel, from where you have a wonderful all-round view. Incidentally, you can also use the chairlift for the last part of the ascent. The descent leads through forests and past alpine settlements to Mutta. From there you can take the chairlift to Feldis.

On the Tenner Chrüz in the front Safiental GR

The snowshoe hike begins in Tenna in the Safien Valley in Graubünden. From here you walk to the village church. We continue up to the Tenner Chrüz. This is the highest point of the snowshoe hike. The world’s first solar-powered ski lift is located here. Since part of the snowshoe hiking route is close to the tree line, you should be considerate of the animals

The Lötschenpass Trail VS

This high alpine and demanding snowshoe tour is only accessible in good weather conditions. From Wiler VS you take the Lauchernalp cable car up to the Hockenhorngrat at 3100 meters above sea level. From the mountain station you hike down to the Lötschenpass. There you strengthen yourself in the Lötscheinpasshütte for the way back. After the break you walk back up to the Hockenhorngrat. The last descent is at 3.50 p.m.
