Layered look in winter
The waistcoat is our fashion favourite
With it you are prepared for all eventualities: The vest allows a layered look and casually gets us through the season when we shiver in the morning and start sweating in the afternoon when the sun comes out.
Did you also feel like adding a waistcoat to your wardrobe?
It’s not freezing cold, but it’s not warm either. We wonder what to wear in winter when temperatures are mild. The solution: layers. In the morning we walk with the motto “It’s better to have too much than too little!” out of the house. If the sun comes out in the afternoon, we can – like an onion – peel off a layer and comfortably move on.
The new in-companion for the so-called onion look: the padded waistcoat. It is a down jacket without sleeves, it keeps us warm but at the same time gives a view of the outfit. Functionality and elegance combined – we like that at least since the pandemic, which taught us that we not only have to look stylish, but also feel comfortable in our outfits.
This is how we combine casual waistcoats
As is so often the case here, too, is the break in style. Thanks to their loose cut and wide fit, the sleeveless jacket alternatives can be worn over any look. After all, everything fits underneath: waistcoats offer enough space, whether for cozy knitwear, a comfortable hoodie or an airy dress.
Waistcoats combine the best of both worlds: simple elegance with pure comfort. Therefore, we can also combine with it what we want. We have no limits. The jeans go just as well with it as our favorite summer dress, which we are sending to overtime thanks to the vest. The best thing to do with the dress is to wear trendy boots that complete the look.
Anyone who wears a belt over their waistcoat or already chooses a model with an integrated belt takes the outfit to an even more elegant level, as it emphasizes the waist.
In the end, the puffy vest can really be worn with everything, which is what makes it so great. Because it either emphasizes our look or gives it variety. A true all-rounder that we would prefer not to give up.
It doesn’t always have to be the sleeveless classic in a short form. This season the waistcoat comes in all lengths. Whether cropped, knee-length, oversized, without sleeves or short-sleeved – there is something suitable for everyone.
