An architectural highlight and at the same time a source of relaxation are the 7132 thermal baths in Vals.
Nature-related wellness offers such as forest bathing and barefoot walking are in vogue. Reconnecting to nature in hectic everyday life helps us to ground ourselves and refocus on the essential things in life. Shinrin Yoku, as forest bathing is called in Japan, has long been considered an effective method for dealing with stress. At the Stächelmoos in the Entlebuch biosphere reserve, the forest lifeguard Susanne offers forest bathing tours at 1200 meters above sea level and takes guests into the depths of the forest. Slow movements and Qi Gong exercises are used to consciously apply and train mindfulness and deceleration. An experience for the whole year, even during the winter months.

Kneipp is trendy. Hardening the body by treading water, walking barefoot, walking in snow and dry brushing should activate body, mind and soul in equal measure and stimulate the body’s own defenses. In the Schwandalpweiher Kneipp facility in the Unesco Biosphere Entlebuch, this treatment can be indulged in on a specially designed course. After the water treading facility in the six-degree cold water, you can reach the resting station via the barefoot path. On the way, stones, pine cones or, in winter, snow on the paths also stimulate blood circulation. The facility is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. During the winter months, only the casting station and the arm bath are closed due to the risk of frost.

Design and well-being in Vals
An architectural highlight and at the same time a source of relaxation are the 7132 thermal baths in Vals. The Swiss architect Peter Zumthor, who lives in Graubünden, has created a symbiosis of water and stone from Valser quartzite and thus a perfect place for relaxing – including a fantastic view of the wintry landscape of the Graubünden mountains. The thermal baths are part of the 5-star hotel of the same name, but are also available for day visitors. It is important to make a reservation in advance, as the number of guests is limited to a daily maximum to ensure a pleasant experience. After that, nothing stands in the way of relaxation while bathing in the 30 degree warm mineral water from the St. Petersquelle. The outdoor pool is even heated to a comfortable 36 degrees in winter.
