If you want to visit snow-covered places in the cold season, you are spoiled for choice in the Swiss mountains. That’s why we asked the Blick community where the most beautiful winter villages in the country are. Saas-Fee VS won the race with 13,100 votes, followed by Grächen VS with 12,141 votes.

The Blick community’s ranking of the most beautiful winter resorts:

1. Saas Fee VS

Saas-Fee: embedded in a magnificent landscape surrounded by 18 four-thousanders.

Recommended by Blick reader Matthias Supersaxo:

«The car-free glacier village of Saas-Fee at 1800 m above sea level. in the middle of the highest Swiss Alps exudes an unbelievable aura even on a clear night with a starry sky.»

2. Grächen VS

Recommended by reader Verena Korrodi:

«Grächen is beautiful and very family-friendly. We enjoy the Valais to the fullest.”

3. Murren BE

Recommended by reader Hanspeter Rickenbacher:

«Mürren, far away from the fashionable St. Moritz, Verbier and Zermatt. Mystical, and you kind of feel like you’re in Middle-earth in the truest sense of the word. This is not where the rich and beautiful go, but rather the intellectual and imaginative. Mürren stimulates places in your brain that you haven’t even discovered yet, give it a try!”

4. Gstaad BE

Recommended by reader Susanne Lehmann:

“Nice in every season.”

5. Zermatt vs

Recommended by reader Justin Gassmann:

“Zermatt is super nice in winter. All the roofs are covered with snow and when the sun is shining Zermatt looks absolutely stunning.»

6. Bettmeralp VS

Recommended by reader Franz Steinauer:

«Bettmeralp in beautiful Valais. Fantastic mountain landscape and car-free. Also very nice people. Everything is right there.”

7. Samnaun GR

Blick reader Joel Pfister raves:

“Simply fantastic. 239 kilometers of slopes and an amazing panorama.»

8. Scuol GR

Recommended by Blick reader Tina Säumer:

“As a nature lover, you’re in the right place in Scuol.”

9. Grindelwald BE

Reader Christine Widmer recommends:

«You should definitely have seen Grindelwald. The village has a wide range of shops and the beautiful chalets create a balanced village picture. The excursion offers are great and everything is easily accessible on foot or by public transport (free if you stay there). There are hotels for every taste and budget. The locals are all very hospitable – from the shop assistant to the service staff to the community worker.»

10. Engelberg OW

Recommended by reader Verena Iseli:

«Engelberg with a week of skiing on the Titlis: a super, extra and great experience.»
