The following ski areas have registered in the “Family” category and will compete against each other in the Blick Winter Awards 2022/23.
Blick and Switzerland Tourism are looking for the most beautiful ski areas of this year’s winter season and are awarding a Blick Winter Award in six categories. Every ski area in Switzerland had the opportunity to register in a maximum of two of the six categories. You decide who wins!
In the “Family” category, we are looking for a winning ski area where the little ones can also enjoy snow sports, where there are easy practice areas for skiing and family-friendly entertainment and leisure activities.
The following ski areas have registered in the “Family” category. We present them here in alphabetical order. Vote now on www.winterawards.ch for your favorite!
Adelboden-Lenk, Canton of Bern
While the little ones try their first skis in the Kinderland together with Snowli or Globi, kids and teens let off steam in the ski school, on the many family-friendly small lifts or on the countless fun facilities in Adelboden-Lenk.
Aletsch Arena, Canton of Valais
The car-free, snow-sure and sunny Aletsch Arena (Riederalp, Bettmeralp, Fiesch-Eggishorn) has been awarded the “Family Welcome” seal of approval. In addition, children and young people up to their 20th birthday can ski for free on Saturdays.
Anzere, Canton of Valais
Anzère describes itself as the destination to create unforgettable memories: warm, welcoming and manageable, with a car-free village square that allows it to welcome families with peace of mind.
Arosa Lenzerheide, Graubünden Canton
Family ski days are really fun in Arosa Lenzerheide. Here you can meet Globi on one of the numerous blue slopes or in free children’s areas.
Bellwald, Canton of Valais
In the family park Bellwald you can arrive with your family, take a deep breath and recharge your batteries. You are in a world of your own and have a lot of time for yourself and your family. No matter how big, small and mixed up your family is and how many generations come, everyone will find something for themselves here.
Bergbahnen Obersaxen Mundaun, canton Graubünden
Everyone gets their money’s worth in the Obersaxen Mundaun winter sports region. Slopes with guaranteed snow, combined with excellent piste conditions, guarantee carefree winter fun. The three ski schools with their experienced ski and snowboard instructors playfully introduce the children to the art of winter sports.
Biel-Kinzig, Canton of Uri
The varied pistes in the Biel-Kinzig ski area offer skiing fun for the whole family. While the first skiing experiences can be collected at the children’s lift, the others enjoy the blue slopes along the tow lift without any worries.
Blatten-Belalp, Canton of Valais
The 45,000 square meter, free Hexenland on the Belalp is the ideal place for the little ones to learn to ski and snowboard while having fun. The Funslopes Schneekringel, Zauberring and Hexenschuss as well as the 8 km long toboggan run promise fun for the whole family.
Brambrüesch, canton Graubünden
Brambrüesch has its very own charm and convinces connoisseurs, families and athletes with a comprehensive winter offer. Among other things, you will be amazed by the traditional Tschu-Tschu train, children’s lift and the natural snow paradise with a view.
Braunwald, Canton Glarus
Easy pistes, conveyor belts, rope lifts, Bartli parcours tunnels and other cool exercise aids help children to ski.
Champex Lac, Grand Saint Bernard, Canton of Valais
The holiday resort with its lake and its traditional wooden chalets is not wrongly called “Little Canada of Switzerland”. With its beginner’s slope on the lake shore, skiing is possible for all children from an early age.
Charmey, Canton of Fribourg
The ski resort is family-friendly. The pistes are accessible to all levels, 7 of the 12 pistes are blue pistes: the SSS Charmey offers various courses and the snow kindergartens allow the youngest to start skiing.
Crans Montana, Canton of Valais
Crans-Montana has been awarded the “Family Destination” seal of approval. Children up to the age of 9 use the mountain railways for free and learn to ski on the snow-covered golf course or in the snow kindergarten.
Engadin Scuol Zernez, canton Graubünden
Skiing fun is guaranteed on Motta Naluns. For the little ones there is the “Nalunsin” children’s area, and in the Snowpark Scuol the brave jump over kickers and whiz through tunnels. In addition to the exciting ski area, there are also ten different toboggan runs, a varied program with our “holiday tips” for young and old, which, among other things, gives guests a look behind the scenes of local businesses.
Engadin St. Moritz, canton Graubünden
Families who love snow sports are in particularly good hands on the sun-kissed slopes of Zuoz’s local mountain, the Pizzet (2,465 m above sea level). Here the first careful steps on skis are dared. Thanks to the pony lift, magic carpet and other terrain aids, the little ones can get to grips with the basic elements such as snow plows, braking and turning with the Zuoz ski school.
Engelberg-Titlis, Canton of Obwalden
In Globi’s and Schmuggli’s Wonderland, the youngsters will find perfect conditions for their first rides. Thanks in part to the longest winter season in Switzerland, Engelberg is a talent factory for ski stars.
Grächen, Canton of Valais
As an excellent «Family Destination», Grächen has a wide range of family and child-friendly holiday apartments and hotels. A great range of ski schools and attractive fun and snow parks ensure the perfect day on the mountain.
Jaun, Canton of Fribourg
Jaun offers snow sports especially for little guests. In the local ski school, the children learn their first turns on adapted terrain. The practice slope is easily accessible and equipped with a people mover, drag lift and a button lift.
La Fouly, Grand Saint Bernard, Canton of Valais
The Petite-Combe slope is a paradise for learning to ski. Here the children of the region, including a certain Daniel Yule, learned to ski at the foot of the Dolent on the French-Italian-Swiss border.
Laax, canton Graubünden
Flims Laax Falera has already been awarded the “Families Welcome” seal of approval by the Swiss Tourism Association (STV) several times and can count itself among the most family-friendly regions in Switzerland.
Leukerbad, Canton of Valais
A magical, snow-covered mountain world for the whole family: the Torrent ski area and the Snowpark Sportarena in Leukerbad are insider tips for snow sports fans of all ages.
Malbun, Principality of Liechtenstein
Due to the good overview in the Malbun ski area, even smaller children can easily be out and about on their own, the hotels are visible from almost the entire piste network.
Marbachegg, Canton of Lucerne
Marbachegg is a popular ski resort for families with children. These get their money’s worth for little money. At the children’s ski lift, right next to the valley station of the gondola lift, the little ones start their first attempts on skis or snowboards.
Moosalp region, Canton of Valais
The Moosalp region offers families a children’s paradise of over 28,000 square meters that has won a Ski Area Test Award. It has two practice lifts, many arches and jumps and can be reached directly by car.
Nax Télé Mont-Noble, Canton of Valais
The Nax Télé Mont-Noble ski area is a ski and snowboard destination for families. The youngest skiers and beginners can practice on the magic carpet at the Espace Loisirs Mont-Noble before hitting the magnificent slopes that the ski area has to offer.
Niederurner Täli, Canton Glarus
Practice makes perfect when having fun on the practice slope with the 260 meter long ski lift in Niederurner Täli. The Müller family is now the second generation to run their ski lift with great commitment and is looking forward to many winter sports enthusiasts.
Pizol Railways, Canton of St. Gallen
The children’s area is located at the mountain station. Fun and entertainment is guaranteed. There are three conveyor belts (magic carpets) that are freely accessible, the ski school and the children’s slope with soft forest elements.
Prättigau, Graubünden canton
The Grüsch-Danusa ski area stands for a varied family day. Numerous experiences with magic carpets, ghost trains, bouncy castle and snowmobile fun.
RDDM – Portes du Soleil, Canton of Valais
In the middle of the Portes du Soleil is the Dents du Midi region, where children are given a very special place. Every winter more than 60 activities are offered for them and their families.
Sainte-Croix / Les Rasses, Canton of Vaud
The Sainte-Croix / Les Rasses ski area has nine lifts, two of which are for beginners, to enjoy the joys of winter in complete safety. Here you can ski by the hour at affordable prices, use free parking, a picnic room or a restaurant near the slopes.
Sattel-Hochstuckli, Canton Schwyz
The manageable snow sports area with a revolving gondola, three ski lifts and 14 kilometers of slopes is very popular with families and is particularly suitable for beginners and those returning to skiing.
Savognin, canton Graubünden
In the friendly designed children’s ski paradise La Nars in the Val Surses, the children deepen their first skiing skills. The ascent is easy with the covered magic carpet and the ride through the colored gates, the various courses and the Magicpark guarantee a lot of fun.
Ski resort Tschiertschen, canton Graubünden
The winter sports area offers 32 kilometers of natural snow enjoyment and is also very popular with families thanks to its manageable size. With tobogganing, ice skating, playing ice hockey and much more, there is also a lot to experience off the slopes for young and old.
Schratten Flühli ski lift, Canton of Lucerne
The small Schratten Flühli ski area is a winter paradise for families that can be easily overlooked. The wide pistes offer a variety of downhill runs and are suitable for both small skiers and sporty skiers.
Wilere Binn ski lift, Canton of Valais
The Wilere ski lift is ideal for families. Here, far away from the hustle and bustle, children can learn the right technique in peace and quiet.
Sörenberg, Canton of Lucerne
With 53 kilometers of pistes, the family-friendly ski area offers a wide range of snow sports for all generations: a children’s area, many blue and red pistes and a wide range of offers for non-skiers.
Stoos, Canton Schwyz
The family is welcome on the Stoos. In winter as in summer, children are enthusiastic about skiing, and the rest of the family is also in good hands.
Vals, Graubünden canton
Vals is a small, manageable ski area and therefore ideal for families. In the ski school, young and old can learn to ski and snowboard.
Vercorin, Canton of Valais
The family resort of Vercorin offers you a ski area for all levels of difficulty and a free beginners’ area in the “Creux du Lavioz”. The whole family gets their money’s worth here!
Villars-Gryon-Diablerets, canton of Vaud
Villars-Gryon-Diablerets offers many opportunities to learn to ski in special snow gardens and fun parks. Thanks to the suitable infrastructure and the ski schools, the little ones are instructed in learning snow sports in a playful way.
