Camping Eiger north face, Grindelwald
This campsite is particularly attractive thanks to its location at the foot of the famous north face of the Eiger. It is surrounded by impressive Alpine peaks and only a few minutes’ drive from the village center of Grindelwald. It is particularly practical that ski slopes, toboggan runs and cross-country ski runs lead directly to or past the campsite. You can fortify yourself with a hot drink at the Quicky Bar at the campsite and the kiosk also offers all kinds of fine snacks. Good to know: the hot shower is included in the camping price! Camping Morteratsch, Pontresina
The Morteratsch campsite is rated as one of the most beautiful campsites in Switzerland in various campsite rankings – and rightly so. The scenery of the facility has something fairytale-like: the frozen lake, the larch and pine forest all around, the impressive backdrop of the Bernina massif and the Morteratsch glacier – it looks like something out of a postcard. It is also the highest campsite in Europe at 1860 meters above sea level. The cross-country ski trails lead right past the campsite and the frozen lake invites you to go ice skating. A ski bus also runs to various ski areas in the Upper Engadine. Winter season: until April 13th.

Camping Madulain, Engadin
The Madulainer campsite calls itself a “pearl of the Engadine open-air hotel industry”: Here you camp in a family atmosphere in a small but fine setting in the middle of Madulain – on the Upper Engadine sun terrace. The campsite has a modern sanitary facility with underfloor heating, washing machine and tumble dryer, which is particularly popular with winter campers. In addition to the classic pitches, Camping Madulain also offers special accommodation for a somewhat different camping experience: wooden igloos (so-called PODHouses) and liveable wine barrels. Luxurious winter glamping in Monthey, Valais
If the combination of winter and camping is too extreme for you, the best thing to do is travel to Valais: Here you can treat yourself to something exclusive, namely in the luxurious “Pods”, the dome tents on wooden platforms of the “Whitepod Exo Luxury Hotel”. The 20 square meter glamorous “camping” accommodations welcome you with comfortable double beds and a wood-burning stove for the feel-good factor. Of course, a comfortable armchair in front of the pod’s panoramic window should not be missing. If you want to completely forget that you are theoretically “camping” here, you can make a detour to the sauna in the Whitepod Chalet, where an inviting open fire crackles in front of you. Camping in winter? With pleasure in Monthey! Open all year.

Live right on Lake Zurich for once? The Fischers Fritz campsite in Zurich makes it possible. If normal tent or camping pitches are too commonplace – or too cool – you can casually check in at the resident silvery Airstream, the style icon among the caravans. Alternatively, a pretty chalet-chic cottage including a veranda is available. You can get provisions in the corner shop, which sells fresh products from the region. Or you can sit down at a table in the Fischers-Fritz restaurant, the hub of the campsite. Either way: Camping holidays in Zurich let you experience the city from a completely different, more relaxed side. Open all year.

At the Miralago campsite in Tenero, directly on the shore of Lake Maggiore, camping is a relaxed pleasure even during the cold season. If you don’t have your own mobile home, you can choose to stay in a winter-proof caravan or a bungalow.
