Despite the pandemic, the number of transplants in hospitals remained roughly stable, as the Federal Office of Public Health (BAG) announced on Tuesday. A total of 469 organs from deceased persons and 116 organs from living persons were donated.
A transplant can save lives or greatly improve the quality of life, wrote the BAG. However, there is still a shortage of organs. With a campaign, the federal government wants to motivate people to think about donating organs and to hold their will so that relatives do not have to decide.
