The Baden Cantonal Hospital sounds the alarm.
As the Baden Cantonal Hospital announced, the emergency station is more busy than ever. The previous high was 308 people on the first and second day of 2018. Now 351 people have been treated within one day.
The KSB cites two reasons for the currently high number of patients. On the one hand, numerous family doctor’s surgeries are closed over the holidays. On the other hand, people are currently suffering from corona, RSV and influenza. Respiratory tract infections dominate among the diseases in both children and adults.

The KSB emergency has been heavily frequented for months. Around 90,000 patients have been treated so far this year. Compared to the previous year, this corresponds to an increase of 18 percent.
There are also many minor cases in the emergency center. According to KSB, the majority of the emergency workers are busy treating patients with minor ailments and illnesses.
The population should only go to the hospital in an emergency
“The triage system is used in the KSB emergency center,” writes the KSB in a press release. Emergency patients with serious illnesses or conditions are first treated in the emergency department and admitted to hospital if necessary. Patients with minor illnesses, on the other hand, are treated in the emergency practice.
The KSB asks the population to only seek medical treatment in emergencies. (jwg/SDA)
