The Thurgau cantonal police carried out a speed check on the A7 motorway near Felben-Wellhausen on Thursday and measured a car at 222 km/h.
The 23-year-old racer had to hand in his driver’s license and the vehicle was secured. It is a VW Golf, as the police reported on request from Blick. After deducting the safety margin, the driver exceeded the permitted maximum speed of 120 km/h by 95 kilometers per hour.
The man is a 23-year-old Brazilian from the canton of Thurgau. The Thurgau cantonal police took away the speeder’s probationary driver’s license for the administrative authorities and seized the car. The public prosecutor’s office in Frauenfeld is conducting a criminal investigation.
