A water pipe burst in the Heiligberg-Quariter in Winterthur ZH on Saturday evening. Around a dozen properties were temporarily without a water supply because of the line break, which was reported around 11:30 p.m., according to the Winterthur city police on Sunday.
The Breitestrasse was undermined over a length of around 30 meters. Several cellars were flooded and had to be pumped out, as the city police continue to write. A total of around 3600 cubic meters of water escaped.
The supply has been restored since early Sunday morning. Due to the burst water pipe, however, extensive repair work has to be carried out, which is why the affected section is expected to remain closed until Tuesday.
