A fatal rear-end collision occurred in Suhr AG.
Terrible rear-end collision in Suhr AG: On Monday afternoon there was an Opel Agila on the narrow breakdown lane on the N1R motorway feeder road, which informed the emergency call center of the Aargau cantonal police about a breakdown around 2 p.m., according to the police.
When a police patrol was already on the way to the scene of the accident at 2:15 p.m., an approaching Skoda Octavia crashed into the rear of the breakdown vehicle with full force. This was thrown meters forward and came to a standstill on the road.
When the police patrol arrived shortly thereafter, they found the occupants unresponsive in the demolished Opel. The police officers were able to free him from the wreckage and initiated resuscitation measures. The ambulance continued this, but could no longer save the life of the driver († 66).
The driver (49) of the Skoda escaped with minor injuries. An ambulance took him to the hospital for an examination. The exact course of the accident is the subject of the investigation, the cantonal police in Aargau are looking for witnesses. (chs)
