On Monday afternoon, the driver of an e-bike († 73) intended to turn from a forest path onto the main road. She was hit by a car that had the right of way and was traveling from Hessigkofen in the direction of Gächliwil. The woman fell to the ground and was badly injured. Despite the rescue measures initiated, the 73-year-old died at the scene of the accident. The driver of the car was uninjured.
Because of the accident, the main road between Hessigkofen and the Gossliwil crossing had to be closed for several hours. The police are looking for witnesses to clarify the course of the accident, as stated in a statement.
In addition to the Solothurn canton police, the rescue service, a Rega helicopter, the public prosecutor’s office in the canton of Solothurn and the fire brigades in the Oberer Bucheggberg and Buchegg regions were also on duty. (noo)
