Graubünden releases Wolf to be shot

The Graubünden cantonal government has released a wolf for shooting. In the current alpine summer, 60 sheep fell victim to wolf attacks on three Alps, she explains the step. The damage potential cannot be reduced without the shooting down.

Fate has already overtaken him: the first wolf to appear in the canton of Zurich since the predator was eradicated only exists as a stuffed animal. (archive image)

The shooting permit is valid for 60 days from September 1st. There were 15 attacks on livestock on the three Alps, as announced by the Graubünden Office for Hunting and Fishing on Tuesday. The predators killed more than 10 sheep on protected pastures, meeting the legal quota for one kill.

The farmers have already had to withdraw the animals from one alp. Two wolves, a female and a male, are thought to be responsible for the attacks. According to the information, these killed several farm animals in the summer of 2021 and could be detected on the Alps in question.
