The district court of Winterthur dealt with a so-called “Loverboy” case on Monday. The main suspect is a young man who exploited a 12-year-old girl for two years and “made it available” to his friends.
“Loverboys” are young men who first pretend to be in love with a girl in order to then manipulate, exploit and abuse her. The perpetrators are often minors themselves. The Winterthur case is a drastic example of this form of abuse.
The defendant denied all allegations on Monday. “We had fun,” he said in court on Monday. According to him, everything was voluntary.
Accused filmed crimes
“If she felt forced, that’s bad and I’m sorry,” said the main suspect, who is accused of human trafficking, among other things, and is four years older than the victim. He never ordered her to have sex with his friends.
However, he admitted that he filmed the scenes “because you don’t experience it every day”. In retrospect, he regrets that. But at the time he wanted to be “the cool rapper”. He also forwarded individual recordings to be the center of attention.
He did not have a relationship with the twelve-year-old girl. It was more like “friendship plus”, i.e. a friendship with sex. “I never gave her a reason to fall in love with me.”
Accused beat girls if they didn’t bring him money
Anyway, it was always about the money he asked her for. “If she didn’t have any money for me, I felt screwed,” he continued. Then he hit her. It was such “mutual games”.
In order to be able to give her “boyfriend” money, the girl stole around 15,000 francs from her parents within two years. He used it to pay for clothes and wanted to produce a rap video.
The 17-year-old victim sees these two years with the main suspect completely differently. It was definitely a relationship, albeit not a normal one, she said in the survey. “Maybe it was just one-sided on my part.”
Whenever he did something to her, he grinned maliciously “like a psycho”. But she couldn’t part with him because there were always nice moments. “Sometimes he stroked my cheek. I couldn’t let go.”
Girls only wanted love
The sex with the main suspect was consensual because that way she could be close to him. “But a hug would have been enough for me.” The sex with his “bros”, on the other hand, is not. “But I never said anything. I was more passive and the shy girl.” She only wanted love.
Her parents tried desperately to keep their daughter away from the older teenager. However, it didn’t help that they locked the daughter in the room. In one case she even jumped from the second floor to see her “friend”.
When she eventually reported him and he was arrested, she felt “like having a drug taken away from me”. Even today she seems to have feelings for her tormentor. She wants to see him happy and wishes him a woman who loves him as much as she does, she said when questioned.
Then she greeted him with a smile on her face. He was sitting in another room at the time and watched her questioning via video transmission.
Six other men charged
In addition to the main accused, there are also six other young men in court – his “bros”, who are said to have abused the girl together with him. Those who wanted to remember having sex with the 12-year-old emphasized that she “never said no”.
The juvenile prosecutor is demanding a ten-year prison sentence for the main suspect. Because he was still a minor when the crimes began, he should be placed in an inpatient facility for young adults. According to the indictment, he deliberately controlled the girl and used it like a commodity.
According to the indictment, his underage “bros” should receive conditional prison sentences. The adult friends are to be punished with unconditional prison sentences and ten years’ expulsion from the country. The process will take several days. The verdict will open in early July.
