Lucerne doctor is on trial
The Lucerne doctor, who is accused of violating epidemic legislation in connection with Covid, has admitted not having worn a mask in his practice. He did this “for medical and ethical reasons,” he said in court on Monday.

“I had a protection concept in practice, but without a mask requirement,” he said. The benefit of the mask requirement is smaller than the damage. The Covid regulation had “disproportionately restricted” him as a doctor.
In a penal order, the public prosecutor had accused the doctor of not enforcing the mask requirement in his general practice in Ebikon LU in January 2021 and of not wearing a hygiene mask in the presence of patients. She therefore pronounced a fine of 1,000 francs. The doctor did not accept the penalty order, which is why it came to a hearing before the Hochdorf district court.
