Man pushed into the ice-cold Limmat – police arrest Schubser

A man was pushed into the Limmat near the Rathausbrücke on Wednesday afternoon. The alleged perpetrator was arrested a short time later.

At around 2:30 p.m., a soaked, slightly injured and severely hypothermic man (55) appeared at the town hall police station. He claimed to have been pushed into the Limmat by another man. The water temperature of the Limmat in Zurich was around 6 degrees on Wednesday, according to data from the Office for Waste, Water, Energy and Air of the Canton of Zurich.

A paramedic was called in for the hypothermic Swiss. The Zurich cantonal police immediately began the search. A short time later, the alleged perpetrator (34) was stopped and arrested. The responsible public prosecutor’s office opened criminal proceedings against the Swiss man who pushed him because of endangering his life and bodily harm. (jwg)
