Fatal accident in Degersheim SG: A driver († 77) drove from Moos towards Wolfertswil on Friday afternoon. For reasons that are still unknown, he left the roadway and crashed his car into a tree. Despite the rescue measures initiated by the rescue workers, the driver and his passenger († 76) died on site. As a spokeswoman for the St. Gallen cantonal police confirmed on a Blick request, the two deceased are a married couple.

The car, a white Golf, was totaled. The road had to be closed while the accident was being investigated.
