They glued themselves to the runway at Berlin Airport
Plane from Zurich has to land in Dresden because of climate activists
Instead of Berlin, two planes from Zurich had to land in Dresden instead of Berlin on Thursday. The reason: Climate activists of the “last generation” stuck themselves on the runway at Berlin-Brandenburg Airport.
Chaos at Berlin Airport: Since climate activists stuck to the runway, two planes from Zurich had to land in Dresden instead of Berlin. Right in the middle: co-head of news for the Blick group, Jessica von Duehren, and her children.
Once again, climate activists have struck: Instead of using a motorway or a street, they have now come up with a size larger. On Thursday afternoon, climate activists from the group “Last Generation” stuck to the runway at Berlin-Brandenburg Airport.
This had consequences: air traffic was disrupted, several planes had to switch to other airports.
Right in the middle: co-head of news for the Blick group, Jessica von Duehren-Cattani (31). “Actually, we should have arrived in Berlin at 5:30 p.m. But now everything has turned out differently,” she says to Blick. Since the machine could not have been circling in the air all the time, they had to land in Dresden instead. “Now we’re stranded here.” How and when it will continue is currently unclear.
Von Duehren was on her way to Berlin with her two sons Anton and Mattia (both 4) to visit her family. But not only their EasyJet machine, but also a Swiss machine would have had to switch to Dresden. “My husband is currently on the Swiss plane. This too has now landed in Dresden instead of in Berlin.” (dzc)
