On Wednesday morning, a driver collided with a candelabra on Emserstrasse in Chur.
On Wednesday at 11:25 a.m. an accident occurred on Emserstrasse in Chur GR. The driver of the car was seriously injured in the violent collision.
A 59-year-old driver drove his car along Emserstrasse in the direction of Chur. Shortly before the roundabout at house no. 30, the man got into the middle of the road with the vehicle for reasons that are still unknown and collided with a candelabra.
Man dies after accident in hospital
He was initially looked after by passers-by who had observed the accident. The arriving police patrol took over the resuscitation a little later until the rescue service from Chur arrived.
The seriously injured Skoda driver was taken to Graubünden Cantonal Hospital by ambulance – in vain. The man died in the hospital that evening.
Emserstrasse had to be closed on both sides for around two hours. The exact course of the accident is still the subject of police investigations. (nad)
