Romanian (24) and German (23) arrested
Swiss († 60) found killed in Aargau hotel room
In mid-September, the body of a 60-year-old Swiss man was found in a hotel room in the Baden district. The coroner’s investigation indicates a violent crime.
The police arrested two suspects.
On September 16, 2022, the Aargau cantonal police were informed by a third party that a body had been found in a hotel room. Since the guest had rented the room for a longer stay and canceled cleaning, his death was not noticed for a long time.
The police found a badly decomposed body, according to a statement on Friday. In order to identify the body and determine the cause of death, an examination was ordered at the Institute for Forensic Medicine in Aarau. Based on the investigations carried out there, the identity of the victim could be determined and it turned out that the deceased had been the victim of a violent crime.
Victim and suspect knew each other
The law enforcement authorities immediately put together a team of investigators to locate the perpetrators. Two people quickly became the focus of the investigation. Both were arrested.
The suspects are a 24-year-old Romanian and a 23-year-old from Germany. The victim and the two suspects knew each other. After the first investigations and interviews, the public prosecutor’s office in Baden has applied for pre-trial detention for both men. This was approved by the compulsory measures court.
Investigations into the exact course of events continue. The presumption of innocence applies to the two suspects until they are finally convicted. In order not to jeopardize the evidence, the public could only be informed now after the first investigative actions.
