A tree fell on three vehicles driving on the canton road in Hermetschwil-Staffeln AG on Monday evening. The accident was minor: There were no injuries, but major property damage.

The three vehicles were at the same height shortly before 6 p.m. when the tree fell across the road, according to the Aargau canton police on Tuesday.
The vehicles were damaged by the fallen tree, or they collided with the tree. A car was driving in the direction of the village, two vehicles were coming from the village center on the canton road.
The 33-year-old driver, the 50-year-old van driver and the 42-year-old driver were unharmed. There was damage to the three vehicles. The affected cantonal road remained completely closed for several hours.
The tree fall had consequences for the delivery truck driver from Sri Lanka: he had to hand in his driver’s license on the spot because the police determined that the alcohol level was too high. Prosecutors ordered blood and urine tests.
