On Saturday morning, a man attacked a woman for reasons that are still unknown. Thanks to residents who rushed to help, the perpetrator was able to flee.

Shock for a 42-year-old in Rheinfelden AG! The woman was walking from the train station towards the old town at 5.45 a.m. on Saturday morning when she was approached by an unknown man, according to the Aargau canton police.

For reasons still unknown, the man held the victim and choked her. Since the woman resisted verbally and physically, local residents rushed to help. The perpetrator then fled in the direction of the old town of Rheinfelden. The deployed police patrols could not track down the attacker despite search measures. The 42-year-old suffered minor injuries in the attack.
