“I generally predict little snow for this winter.”Muotathal weather forecaster Roman Ulrich
Anyone wishing for snow for New Year will be disappointed. The flake doldrums could continue like this, says the Muotathal weather forecaster Roman Ulrich (51): “I generally predict little snow for this winter.”
He could read that from the nettles. This year they have remained low. Ulrich doesn’t want to reveal more: “A business secret.” Meteorologist Marco Stoll (43) from Meteo Schweiz: “We don’t dare go as far up the branches as our Muotathal colleagues.” He can only offer precise forecasts for five days. They agree with the weather forecaster: Below 1000 meters it stays green, above 2000 it’s wintry – with good snow cover and reasonably normal conditions; at medium altitudes the snowpack remains thin. The Wetterschmöcker advises: “Don’t ski, but ride a bike.”
