The fatal accident occurred on Escher-Wyss-Platz in Zurich.
After the accidental death of a 5-year-old boy on Zurich’s Escher-Wyss-Platz, the Zurich public prosecutor’s office opened three criminal proceedings. The three drivers who have been questioned so far have “reasonable suspicion” that they could be involved in the accident.
However, the exact course of the accident is not yet known, emphasized Erich Wenzinger, spokesman for the senior public prosecutor’s office, on Wednesday to the “Regionaljournal Zürich-Schaffhausen” on Radio SRF1. The three drivers are not in custody either.

Two car drivers and a truck driver
The three people are two car drivers and a truck driver. The police first questioned her the day after the fatal accident on December 21, 2022. The 5-year-old boy was on his way to kindergarten when he was fatally injured on Escher-Wyss-Platz. Passers-by found the child dead near the tram tracks, but a tram was not involved in the accident.
