European culture ministers found Baukultur Alliance in Davos
Around 30 European culture ministers founded a building culture alliance in Davos on Monday. The aim of the alliance is to promote exchange and cooperation between the private sector, civil society and politics for a sustainable building culture.
Federal President Alain Berset opened the two-day building culture conference on Sunday evening. The founding document of the Baukultur Alliance for exchange between the private sector, civil society and politics was signed on Monday afternoon. (archive image)
Federal President Alain Berset had invited to the two-day conference on the fringes of the World Economic Forum (WEF). According to Berset, what has been missing in the debates about building culture so far has been the private sector.
Berset also wants to turn building culture into an instrument against global warming. In his opening speech on Sunday, he said that good building culture is indispensable when it comes to achieving the energy transition quickly and slowing down climate change.
It is already the second conference on the subject of building culture in Davos. Switzerland last invited to such an event in 2018. Building culture includes architecture, design, urban planning and craftsmanship.
