“Strategic plans for the future, bilateral relations and cooperation at the international level in 2023 were discussed,” he wrote. Zelenskyi also thanked Duda, whom he described as “a friend of Ukraine”, for his “constant and powerful support”.
It was unclear where the meeting took place. The video showed Zelenskyy stepping off a plane, being greeted by Polish officials and walking down a tarmac. A little later he met his Polish counterpart, whom he hugged and with whom he then sat down at a table to talk.
Zelenskyy was on his way home from the US, where he met US President Joe Biden the day before and delivered a speech to the US Congress. The visit to Washington was his first trip abroad since Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine began. Selenskyj has received further promises of help from his most important ally.
According to Polish media reports, Selenskyj flew from Rzeszów in Poland to the USA. There is a military airport there that is also used by the US Air Force.
