But the past gives them no peace: a hidden will and two murders destroy the peace that has been established and awaken the dormant criminal instincts in Bax and Pirmin to new life.

Season 1: The Valais cantonal police officer Bax has been following the small-time cannabis dealers Juni and Valmira for some time. When he learns that building contractor Fricker is offering Juni 10,000 francs for a job, Bax starts an undercover operation.

He sends the shy intern Butterfly to the dealers with a drone to support them. The situation is getting out of control. The arrival of federal police officer Annette Brotz causes unrest at the headquarters. The Valais cops suspect that they are being monitored because they are keeping some secrets.

Season 2: Bax and Pirmin are on the trail of a conspiracy. But nobody believes them. Because of his investigative methods, Bax soon finds himself on the run. Federal police officer Annette has also been on site for a long time. She is actually there to investigate the work of the police station, but threatens to overtake Bax and Pirmin.

The local police chief Biffiger appears to be cooperative on the surface, but his heart beats for his team. He knows from experience that not everything from Bern can be trusted.

3: Where can I find the trailer for the third season of “Tschugger”?

4: What does the word “Tschugger” mean?

“Tschugger” means something like scout and comes from Rotwelschen, once a kind of secret language for the socially excluded. Contrary to popular opinion, the term probably has nothing to do with the municipality of Tschugg in the Bernese Seeland with almost the same name. Linguists consider this word similarity to be coincidental.

The Basel police even provide an explanation of the terms on their website. In the Rhine city, however, it is called “Schugger”. For a long time, “Tschugger” was considered a swear word and an insult to officials. Nowadays, the police officers usually take it easy when you call them that.

6: Where was the series filmed?

Filming for the third season of “Tschugger” took place in the cantons of Valais, Zurich and Bern. Things went particularly well in the federal city: filming took place on the Kleine Schanze, in the Brückenmätteli, in the Postgasse, on the Untertorbrücke and in the Märit on the Bundesplatz.

7: Which dialect is spoken in “Tschugger”?

Almost all characters in the dialect series speak Valais German. A dialect coach was therefore not necessary on set. The dialogues of “Tschugger” were first written in standard German and then translated into dialect.

8: Who are the actors in “Tschugger”?

David Constantin embodies the protagonist, the cantonal police officer Johannes “Bax” Schmidhalter. Dragan Vujic plays Inspector Pirmin again.

Anna Rossinelli is also on duty as federal police officer Annette. And the scatterbrained intern Butterfly (Cédric Schild) is back at the start.

9: Who directed “Tschugger”?

The main actor, screenwriter and director of the third season is once again David Constantin from Valais. Constantin shares the director’s chair with the Swiss film director and screenwriter Johannes Bachmann.
