As a top model, Gisele Bundchen (41) is always in a good mood in front of the camera. Now the Brazilian talks about her darkest times. Because at the beginning of her career, in the early 2000s, she had a private crisis. “From the outside it looked like I had everything,” she says in an interview with the fashion magazine “Vogue”. But appearances are deceptive. “I was only 22 years old, but inside I felt like I had hit rock bottom.”
Her days were marked by anxiety and panic attacks. She says: “I started my day with a mocha frappuccino with whipped cream and three cigarettes and then drank a bottle of wine every night.” That really got to her mind.

Withdrawal was very hard
Eventually, she went into rehab with a naturopathic doctor. For weeks, sugar, grains, dairy, caffeine, alcohol and cigarettes were taboo for them. “I got the worst migraine attacks I’ve ever had in my life.”
Another defining moment: Her catwalk debut at 18 was a disaster. Gisele Bundchen only found out shortly before the show that her top consisted of only a few threads and that her chest could be seen. “That was one of the most traumatic moments,” recalls Bundchen. “I immediately started crying.” At that time she still hoped that she could hide the pictures of her daddy – but to this day the pictures can be found with just a few clicks.
Today Gisele Bundchen is happy with her life
Today the mother of two children is completely happy. “I think I feel better in my 40s than in my 20s, and not just physically,” she says, adding: “We’re always told that life is over at 40. I feel like mine is just beginning.” (bnr)
