Today the scandalous autobiography of the year appears with Prince Harry’s (38) book “Spare”. At least since last Thursday, when the work was released prematurely in Spanish stores and the first explosive content became public, interest has skyrocketed again – also in Switzerland. Ex Libris speaks of a “suddenly increased demand”, and when asked, Orell Füssli also confirmed “great interest” and placed additional orders. The desire to finally be able to read in its entirety what has hitherto only been made public in parts is more than understandable given the hits that are already known.
One of the core contents of the book concerns the fraternal dispute between Harry and Prince William (40). Harry already hints at the huge potential for conflict in the title of the book: “Spare” (German title “Reserve”), eternal replacement, not to be taken too seriously. That’s how his father King Charles III got him. (74) named shortly after his birth. After the death of Williams and Harry’s mother Diana (1961-1997), the cheerful relationship between the brothers darkened rapidly. Today, Harry sees “the greatest of all opponents” in his older brother.

In one of the heated arguments, William is said to have become violent. He is said to have described Harry’s wife Meghan (41) as “difficult”, “rude” and “aggressive” and then “thrown the Duke of Sussex to the ground”. Williams’ wife Kate (41) is said to have repeatedly become abusive to Meghan and described her as “stupid” and “scheming”.
war, sex and drugs
Harry’s descriptions of his time during the Afghan war have already made international headlines: “One of the most important things I learned in the army is that I am responsible for my own actions. So my number: 25,” he writes, referring to the people he killed during his missions. “It wasn’t something I was happy about, but it wasn’t anything I was ashamed of either,” Harry said.
What should drive sales and interest even further are the proven blockbusters sex and drugs. In “Spare,” Harry talks about his “first time” with an elderly woman whose identity remains unknown. ‘She liked horses, very much, and treated me like a young stallion and spanked me on the bottom. Among the many things that were wrong about it, it happened in a meadow behind a busy pub.”
In addition to drinking from a young age, Harry is said to have been offered coke on a hunting trip as a teenager. It didn’t make him happy: “But I felt different, and that was my main goal. to feel something To be different,” writes Harry, perhaps hitting the core of his character better than anywhere else.

Powder smoke and pistol smoke
Instead of letting the gun smoke spread a little over the weekend, Harry ups the ante in various interviews. Particularly violent in “60 Minutes” on CBS, where he shoots against Queen Consort Camilla (75) and does not spare his father either. He describes Camilla as a “bad stepmother” and their first meeting as an “injection”. He begged his father not to marry her.
In order to improve her own public reputation, she was willing to “walk over corpses”. Harry accuses Camilla and Charles of using him and William to make them both look better to the people.
While he chooses the whip on the US broadcaster CBS, it is probably not by accident that he presses the tear duct on the British broadcaster ITV. He is always ready for a reconciliation talk, and the door to it is “always open”. “Forgiveness is 100 percent a possibility.”
When asked if he would like to attend his father’s coronation on May 6th, Harry evasively replies: “A lot can happen before then.”
Perhaps the question no longer arises: British royals experts are already reporting that Harry has been removed from the coronation process in response to the allegations and is no longer playing an active role in the procedure. The palace itself is still silent.
