Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott welcomed their second child in February 2022 and named them Wolf. However, shortly after birth, they changed his name.
Kylie Jenner (25) gave birth to a son on February 2, 2022. She and father Travis Scott (35) originally called him Wolf, but a few weeks later the couple announced that this was no longer the child’s name: “We just didn’t feel that it was ER,” she wrote mother of two. It was only last Saturday, January 21, 2023, eleven months after the birth, that the reality TV star let his fans know on Instagram that the son will be called Aire from now on.
“You just drove the whole internet crazy,” wrote one fan under the picture. Another follower wrote in surprise: “On a simple Saturday?” Grandmother Kris Jenner (67) also commented on how much she loves Aire Webster (Scott’s real last name).
Jenner receives criticism
Not all fans reacted to the name change with such expressions of happiness. Many followers noted that the word “Aire” in Arabic can be colloquially translated as “my penis”.
As early as September, the American explained on the TV show “The Late Late Show with James Corden” how much pressure she had put on the choice of name: “We had to sign the birth certificate 24 hours beforehand, otherwise it would simply be registered without a name and doesn’t get a social security number.”
Her sister Khloé Kardashian (38) suggested the name Wolf – on the grounds that she likes the double W in combination with Scott’s surname Webster. But Jenner immediately regretted her choice: “Right after I signed the birth certificate, I asked myself: ‘What did I just do?’ It’s part of his story, but his name has changed.” (praise)
