“Nothing New in the West” nominated nine times

The Netflix production “Nothing New in the West” by director Edward Berger (53) was nominated for the Oscar for Best Picture and the Oscar for Best International Film on Tuesday, as announced at a ceremony in Los Angeles. There were other nominations for best cinematography, best sound, best score and best adapted screenplay, among others.

The science fiction adventure comedy “Everything Everywhere All At Once” by the director duo Daniel Kwan (34) and Daniel Scheinert (35) received eleven and thus the most nominations. In addition to “Nothing New in the West”, there were nine nominations for the Irish tragic comedy “The Banshees of Inisherin”. The film “Elvis” by director Baz Luhrmann (60) was nominated eight times, Steven Spielberg’s (76) “The Fabelmans” seven times. The 95th Oscars will be presented in Hollywood on March 12th.
