Stood in front of the camera for a documentary about Abbey Road Studios: Paul McCartney.
Former Beatles musician Paul McCartney (80) was almost run over by a car while filming on the legendary pedestrian crossing on London’s Abbey Road.
He had wanted to recreate the Beatles’ famous 1969 album cover for his daughter Mary’s (53) documentary about Abbey Road Studios, said Mary McCartney. “As we were walking out of the studio, I said to him, ‘I’m filming you on the crosswalk,’ and he walked over it, and this car didn’t stop for him at all!” That was very funny.
The documentary “If These Walls Could Sing” on Disney+ is a homage to the recording studio Abbey Road Studios in the London street of the same name, where the Beatles also recorded music. Fans often pose at the pedestrian crossing there like the Fab Four on the cover of the Abbey Road album. In addition to her father and Ringo Starr (82), Mary McCartney also interviewed Elton John (75), Liam Gallagher (50), Roger Waters (79) and director George Lucas (78) for the film. (hgo)
